It ended the sequels perfectly, clearing up the mess and confusion that The Last Jedi (TLJ) left behind. It did feel as though director J.J. Abrams was making up for TLJ, and some parts of the film could definitely have been in TLJ.
It bravely tried out some new things to the Star Wars universe, and they worked. It also handled Palpatine really well.
Up there as one of the best Star Wars films!
