If your looking for a movie about Nintendo's Mario you wont really find it in this but a few references and names. Other than that its as if someone looked at the Mario games and said "Hey Back to the future was kinda cool, what if we had something similar but throw Mario in there and see what we get." In the end it didnt make a bad movie, but a weird and fun ride that can have you either laughing or eye rolling. Kinda weird they didnt really take more reference to the games, especially to characters, since Mario World came out 3 yrs prior. Its also odd how this movie is rated PG....but then again it was the 90's. The real question is "How did this cost $48 mil to make?"
