Not sure how an average car salesman can earn so much to have such luxurious lifestyle, even if his wife is a big shot journalist, surely in a city like Bombay one canโt afford such a grande apartment and lifestyle on just a journalist and salesmanโs income.
The other problem I have with this movie is constantly reminding Kareena that her ovaries outdated or egg qualities are outdated. Such a classic tale of a female character written by a clueless man. There are sooo many women who have given conceived and given birth naturally to babies in their late 30s. Like pls educate and do some research. Lot of times, foods, lack of physical activity and other illnesses are a big contributing factors of infertility. The movie pretty much tries to remind you that your biological clock might be ticking. Meanwhile, they never bother to put a blame on an housewife Kiara who wasnโt able to conceive for six yearsโฆ which is she not subject to scrutiny. Also, Kareena is time and time again reminded that her choosing her work and planning a baby is almost a sinful act. When sheโs finally pregnant, then Diljit Dosanh has problems with her working until the very late in her pregnancy which btw has only been 7-8months. Science and doctors do recommend women to remain active as it helps with delivery!
Most countries around the world encourages this, but again sheโs reminded that she might be putting herself over her child. Though you can see how much she cares and wants this child.
Lastly, why is it that bollywood filmmakers never like to show people actually doing work? Like sure we are reminded that Kareena is a working woman, but you barely see her work. Why canโt we just show some reality in movies? Akshayโs character is irritating as hell, but he makes some good funny comebacks. Also, how did Kiara and Diljit leave everything in Chandigarh and come stay in Mumbai for 9 months. Why isnโt their family wondering why they are absent throughout the pregnancy? How are they surviving without a job and work? Are they that Uber rich that they can sustain their chandigarh lifestyle in Mumbai for 9 months. Classic Bollywood!
Putting aside all these flaws, the movie is somewhat entertaining and for that, Iโll give it two stars!
