Assassin's Creed: Odyssey has one of the expansive open world maps and I loved the historical parallels, despite the massive inaccuracies to appease PR.
Was super excited for this game. However, was super disappointed 5-10 hours in realizing that most quests were a "go here and collect this list of items for me", "return to me...ok, take this downtown to my friend"...even though "I" as an NPC am perfectly capable of delivering this downtown. -- "Nay, I need a demi-god as a courier."
<--in general, hot trash writing and terrible voice acting.... Whether you play the girl or the guy.
The loot you get from ships and enemies is both disappointing and random. Also, by the time you invest (a lot of money) in upgrading an epic weapon--45 minutes later you have leveled up and can now use a better, higher-level "regular" piece of gear. Even if you pull of a daring "steal" of high level gear, guess what:... "level restrictions on that gear make it useless"
I wanted to like the main character, but it's like he/she is reading off a script that was just thrown in "to make a game." I guess that's just the state of the gaming industry... currently, getting my fill of real story playing some Pathfinder just uploaded to PSNow this month.
