Astonishingly bad film. A lost opportunity. Eddie I Izzard is dressed as a man. Why couldn't she play the headmistress and save poor Judi Dench the embarrassment of attempting to act a terrible script ? The scenes with schoolgirls, flares,and the enormous German transport plane supposed to land on sand are unbelievable and like something from a Carry On movie. Overall this deserves no stars. It is a clumsy pastiche of St Trinian's and the Thirty-nine Steps

Whereas the original Death in Paradise was a fish out of water setup with a detective from the UK being thrust into an unfamiliar tropical island setting, this follow up has an expat returning to a small coastal town in New South Wales where they have a history. This forces the protagonist to adopt the mannerisms of an alien stick insect in an effort to differentiate her character from there locals who all play standard broad comedy Aussie stereotypes. The forced comedy jars . The storyline and writing are weak and lack charm. Perhaps an audience in grey cold wet Britain will be dazzled by the sun and sand and chuckle at the Australian Neanderthals. But from an Australian viewpoint Return to Paradise is barely watchable.

Boring and soapie with unvonvincinh stereotypes in a small community.

Mildly amusing of you do not expect suspense or mystery. Kelsey Grammer must have been doing a favour for an old dear friend to risk his reputation appearing in this.

Funny with just enough reality to keep you interested in the mystery and the characters.

A good looking series but ruined by miscasting both principal characters. Tommy looks incredibly stupid and Tuppence looks constantly annoyed. It would be possible to overlook the many holes in the plot if the leads had any wit or chemistry.
