Not for the faint of heart, Halloween kills provides just what the title implies. Building off the same night as Halloween 2018s film, Micheal Myers is on a rampage never seen before in a Halloween film. This is by far the most brutal we have ever seen the masked madman and for slasher movie lovers, it's a treat. The 1st 20 minutes are dedicated to a recreation of the original 1978 film era, and this is one of the highlights behind the kills. Subtle nods the film franchise history will have any lover of the Halloween films smiling. As for story advancement.....that's another tale. Don't expect a lot of plot advancement. This is very much a middle child film in a trilogy and was more a showcase of Myers rage and ruthlessness over plot advancement. Viewing this movie back to back with Halloween 2018 would be my recommendation as this picks right up after the prologue ends and when viewed from that lense is a fun full story. The Boogeyman is back. He has a knife. And he's right behind you. **** Film when all things considered and a nice cliff hanger to next year's Halloween ends. I suspect when all is said and done this new quadrilogy (1978, 2018, kills and ends) will be a marathon staple for years to come. David Gordon green and company have earned my trust. Bring on ends!
