If you're looking for a live action of 1989 The Little Mermaid, this movie isn't it. This movie is rather a play on the lore of The Little Mermaid by Hans Christian Andersen. The major mistake this movie makes is it's misleading title as many associate "The Little Mermaid" with the 1989 film produced by Disney. As a twist on Anderson's original story, this movie is fairly entertaining and worth a watch. However, don't go into the movie expecting a remake of the Disney classic.
