I enjoyed the film and the questions it raised, until the end. Spoiler: After, in my mind, demonstrating how complicated is the nature versus nurture question, the film simplifies everything by essentially blaming one of the dads for his sonโs suicide. Various family members including the ex wife of the man who killed himself are on camera speaking to that twins never feeling he belonged in the family he was adopted into, and criticizing this old man, who then is shown on camera, sad and questioning himself the way all family members or loved ones do when someone takes their own life. How on earth the filmmakers and family members can know that it was this dads parenting style that led to his son to kill himself (while his genetically identical brothers did not), is beyond me. Well they canโt and it is ludicrous and cruel. It also does not help all the people out there who have lost loved ones to suicide and who are left asking what they did wrong. I was amazed that this film got essentially universal critical acclaim. I tried to contact the filmmaker but to no avail.
