Overall I'd give it a 4.5 if I could. It does a decent job of portraying the books while trying to come into it's own. The smaller details are definitely there and the actors Carry their roles and give life to them in a way the early books were unable to outside of mental thought that only readers could know. That is the hindrance of the show sadly, it suffers from to much story and tells it to much to fast to reach the bigger, juicer parts but skips overs quite a bit smaller details that flesh out the world and the people in it which it needs to in fact make the parts that come later juicer. Lore suffers as do the characters unfortunately. Maybe it changes as the season goes but slows down and begins to unfold differently. We'll see
