This was a really intriguing read, it was a book without a plot but that was most definitely the point. Small spoilers ahead!
The story follows an unnamed narrator through her journey to sleep for an entire year, hoping to be "rebirthed" into someone completely new. We hear her thought in her waking hours, as well as her memories from the past for the majority of the book, and while it has no plot, it is intriguing to learn about this woman's past and to learn about her family, best friend Reva, boyfriend and other people (for example, her boss in the art gallery, her horrible psychiatrist). It also shows what she is like while she is awake, and how she processes things and her thoughts. Eventually, though, she learns that her goal of sleeping for one year is not working, and she decided to "team up" with an old artist who she knew from her art gallery job, and become his muse. She begins to take only one pill and sleep for an entire four months, and she is successful in being "reborn." She takes us through her entire journey, from failure to success, and shows us the beauty of life and the people around her, at the end. Overall, a wonderful read that I will never stop recommending, but definitely check trigger warnings before reading this book. :)
