this is a disturbing movie in this day and age it could be rewritten. we have unloved uncared for child who lost his mother at childbirth. all he learns is alcohol drinking and how be unloved. Into his life walks a woman who brings love to his heart. She has incredible talent who has been passed by. These two don't realize what is really happening. Ally becomes a star by meeting Jack and he in return has come alive. It's tragic Jack, his brother and Ally have no one to put them on course to keep them alive and happy. Ally doesn't know that she is what will give Jack a life of love he never had. She thinks that she needs to see herself in lights. Life is not about stardom. She was made to accompany Jack to a fulfilled life where they both lay down to look at the stars. This movie is so sad my eyes filled with tears at Jack's demise and his dog Charlie sitting waiting for him.
