Very underated game. Really the only thing that annoys me are some of the bland environments and slightly clunky lock-on combat/camera mechanics. Other than this, this game stands the test of time and is still a great 9/10 action RPG in the Castlevania universe. I haven't replayed it in 10 years. Replaying it for the 3rd time and still love it. Sure you need to do some grinding but that's what RPGs are, especially if they have crafting mechanics that require material from monster drops. That's literally half the fun. If that's not your thing then just don't play and give it an unfair review.
This gem really needs a remake of some sort. But if you find yourself with RetroArch and need to scratch that Castlevania RPG itch, play this game. I'd love to see another someday. Hated the direction they went with the theatrical Castlevania on the next gen consoles. And people complain about this game!
