Far from being a sobstory, Chaapak talks about the struggle of the aspiring female caught in the still robust undercurrent of the Indian patriarchy. Yet It manages to strike a balance by portraying " Amol" a male leading the cause of the acid attack victims and a female who actually threw the acid on the protagonist.
