Story line is slower than a snail . To be honest I lost interest in the fate of the protagonists. The American family were stupid and annoying - ditto schoolkids and permanently angry US soldier. Sam Neil is whacked on the head in the first episode, presumably killed but we are not told. I ended up rooting for the aliens. This would have been a better film where everything could have been tightened up.

Invasion

I thought the acting was very good, particularly by the newbies, but sometimes the dialogue was stilted and the episode with the psychiatrist didn't really work. Not sure it was hard hitting enough with the topic of Internet grooming and lad culture/misogyny. We needed flashbacks and some idea of what happened before the murder. As for comments about the school and attitudes of students - trust me, that depiction is sadly spot on.

Adolescence

I was curious about this series, but decided to watch it because of the cast. In the event I binge watched all 8 episodes - it is brilliant. David Thewlis and Thomas Brodie - Sangster are perfect in the roles of Fagan and Dodger and the storyline of the two engaged in dodgy dealings in mid 19thc Australia,set against the emergence of new medical and surgical procedures , is a riot. I just hope that the production companies, Sony and Disney+ commission a further series. It richly deserves it.

This is a fabulous series as it combines Sci fi with many other issues - aging, suicide, social cohesion etc. Performances by JJ Simmons and Sissy Spacek are truly moving and although it has a slow start , once it picks up pace it pulls you in gently and binds you. I feel that this series was ever the foundation, yet Netflix in its wisdom (I am being sarcastic) decided to axe it due, apparently to viewing figures, despite doing little to promote it. Let's hope they have a rethink. Best series for years.
