Dated 30 Sep 2022 Ponniyin Selvan 1 Film review : Budget : PS 1 & 2 Budget is around 250 to 280 crores. PS 1 would be 100 to 120 crores. It was said in unconfirmed news it is 500 crores but it is not. Shooting : Mani & his team wrapped up the Shooting for both the Parts in 150 days which is a real miracle. Even SS Rajamouli was shocked & suprised that how the such a mammoth film was shot in 150 days. They shoot the film during high pandemic wave with PPE Kit and checking everyone daily for the COVID. Review : Ponniyin Selvam part 1 film is like "Troy" where there is extensive conversation and Live Shooting in real places which made the Audience to feel in the year 1000 AD. Instead using too much VFX with green mat they used live locations , Extensive Real Sets that would be in 10th Century. Even action scenes also they didnt use the VFX except the Climax. People who wants Adrenaline pumping high voltage like KGF , Bahuballi or people who like Hero to hit 100 persons or where Hero fly from mountain to mountain or wher Hero Centric film then this is not your side of Film. Where as if you are film fan and love to watch high conversation building stories with real good humor and logical action scenes you will love this film Dont compare this film with Bahuballi because Bahuballi is out and out from Fictional story and for that they used the hero of the film as A Super Hero. In Ponniyin Selvan it is mixed story of Real & Fiction so Mani Ratnam want to take it as real as possible. Story : 10/10 Characterisation : 10/10 Art Work : 10/10 Cinematography : 9/10 Dialogues : 8/10 Casting : 8/10 Dialogue : 7/10 Music (Original Score) : 10/10 Screenplay : 8/10 Songs : 10/10 Film presentation : 8/10 Actors : 10/10 VFX : 8/10 Direction : 9/10 All together 9/10. This Film is the pride of Indian Film Industry. Negative : 1. Few times people don't understand clearly due to lot of Characters in the film and lot of back stories for every characters. 2. The Character Ponniyin Selvan introduction is not as great as in the Novel. It's totally different in Novel. When you read in the Novel you will feel the Intense of the Ponniyin Selvan introduction. 3. This is Strong Characterisation based Novel so every character has indepth Story and back stories because of this the essence of every character not able to show full in the Film. Does film disappointed me ? No definitely not. Film worth ticket value. Film is a Super hit ? Yes it's a Super hit. Can watch with Family ?. Definitely yes. Which is best Bahuballi or PS 1 ? You can't compare Tea and Butter Milk. Both are different in its taste and in its Nature. Ponniyin Selvan 1 is a Classical & Artistic Period Film. Bahuballi is a Pure Commercial Period Film. KGF 2 : Once watchable comfortably in Theatre. But do not expect from the review which you are seeing in YouTube and go to theatre. In Theatres I see two side of crowd one is 15 to 25 age group another one is 25+ age group. Age of between 15 to 25 they enjoyed and cheering the film and 25+ age group especially married people they didn't cheered or clapped for the film they were fully silent and ok with the film like once watchable. KGF Team really did a hard work and the hard work is shown in every frame of the film. Every frame is fresh and new to the audience. But there is a big lag in screenplay. And Editing is super fast but Story in the Screenplay is considerably not moving and it is lagging alot. The Art work , Production design , and Stunt choreography filming and editing is a Top notch. Which is way beyond recently released films and this has made a Film huge hit. Character design and Rocky Bhai Style Desiner did a great job to make the audience alive in every frame. I would give 3.5/5.

Movie is like Documentary. Throughout the movie dialogue is used in Voice over format. There is no twist in the movie. It's just a plane format. D16 movie had a great screen play. This movie screenplay is average and it's not moving. Screen play : 3/10 Cinematography : 6/10 Original Score : 5/10 Story : climax 10 mins is the whole story. 2/10. Direction : 4/10. Better watch in TV or Netflix or Amazon

1. Joaquin phoenix man proved who can fit as a joker after Heath. One of the best performance of this year or any year. Just for his performance you can watch the movie twice. 2. Cinematography Lawrence sher is at top notch. Stunning. Every frame is well executed and neatly framed. Lighting of the movie is one of a kind. 3. Art Direction Laura great work. Without this art work movie would have not been accomplished at great. 4. Original score - Hildur - one of the main essence of every scene in the movie. It supported the main actor according to its Dark characters. Definitely gonna be one of the top scoring of this year. 5. Direction 💯

After a lot of Problems and a loss of over 50 crores in VFX company in USA due to Bankrupt. Finally 2.0 movie released with the Hype. 1. Did the movie met it's hype and expectation ? Yes it met it's hype and expectation. 2. Best thing in the movie ? 3d 3d 3d ! To enjoy and to worth your money watch this movie in 3d with high quality and latest sound system. Definitly you will enjoy the technology. 3. How is VFX ? So good. The best VFX produced by an Indian cinema till date. 4. How is the Story & Screenplay ? Story & Screenplay is bit predictable and still you will be having some TWIST. Once of those TWIST they foolishly released in Trailer. And the last 30 mins will be Fast paced and Definitly you will enjoy this part. There are some humour but comparing to Part 1 where The Robot has lot of TWIST but in 2.0 only very few. 5. Cinematography? Really awesome ! Nirav Shah did a great job. In 3d cam is not easy to shoot. But still he did hear work. 6. Music ? ARR one word Awesome. 7. Costume ? Akshy Costume and designing was really great and he looks terrific. But Robot Rajini costume is very dull and boring. 8. Editing ? Well edited but here and there are some Jumps in the scene. 9. Direction ? In Indian film industry , All together Director has to take care of all the department's which is really big stress for this king of Mega budgeted movies. And with a loss of 50 CRORES in vfx and again to redistribute the work to 10 different VFX companies is a big big challenging for the Director. Salute for that to Shankar. 10. Production ? For this kind of high budget movie beyond the limt spending in India is doubtful. But still Lyca did. Really SUPER cool. 11. Overall Rating? 7.5/10. A must watch movie where this movie took Indian cinema industry in VFX to the next level where we are inches away from Hollywood.
