I had to read this book in the seventh grade, this book was amazing, and unoriginal! Loved it! Keep in mind this is coming from a girl who is very picky when it comes to books! This book is very inspiring, although the traumatic challenges the 11 year old, Salva faces throughout this book is very emotional, from watching people die right before his eyes, losing his family, and from living to refugee camps, Salva managed to keep his head up and keep looking for his family. While Nya, is a fictional character in this book, I was inspired by her! She has to walk 8 hours everyday to fetch water for her and her family! The ending, was overall amazingly done! I would totally recommend this book to friends and family! 5 stars!!!
