Enjoyed this movie so much I went home and watched the original scream movie right after, and caught even more similarities. I think this movie pays homage to the original in some nostalgic ways. It is a very self aware film, which I loved. The original Scream’s purpose is about breaking the mold of common horror tropes, so having them be part of this movie too, in such a manner that they were, I found ironic and funny. The comments about “out of touch old directors that don’t understand young audiences”- I don’t get. I’m young, I enjoyed it, the fact that you all expect a group of teens to be “in touch with reality” is where you’re wrong lol. Yes, it probably could’ve been better in some way or another, but I would gladly go see it again. I recommend this! It had some good prosthetic death scenes (”real” blood/wounds, not that CGI junk) and I had a good time guessing “who done it?”
