While for many this would be a visually stunning experience, there are a few like myself who went to re-live the magic after 26 years. While there are some scene-to-scene similarities, Favreau does take his version to a whole new scale visually. But, were we not expecting this looking at the trailers? While many may complain about "lack of humane" expressions, let us not forget that in Favreau's previous outing the only one expressing was Neel Sethi's Mowgli. Rest, was on voice and actions, and frankly no one disappoints in that regard as far as Lion King is concerned.
There may be a hand-full like me, for whom Lion King was the first ever movie-going experience, and frankly we cannot thank Disney enough to bring that back after 26 years. If cinematically put then, had someone been focusing a camera on me, it would be a 10 year old boy seated in a movie seat with utter awe of what is going on in front of him. Well, that was me again 26 years later.
