So first and foremost I haven't read the book so have nothing to compare this show to BUT it felt like they tried to fit too many concepts, ideas and plot lines into one season. Honestly each episode could've been a season of its own if they went deeper and more in depth with the different strings in the show. Also the center romance just wasn't portrayed in a believable manner to me. I'm still giving it 4 stars because I think the overall premise of the show is genius "can humans exist in a world where everyone is happy? and what is the cost?" and the visuals were cool but could've been executed way better
