Great plot...great actors...great acting!

Classic...at the time I don't think there was ever a contemporary comedy Western done...took me completely by surprise...the racial words and phrases were so funny you had to laugh and forgive Mel Brooks and Richard Pryor...I still gut laugh...thank you Mel and Richard... I'm writing this in 2023...I'm sure in 2123 it'll be just as funny.

The camera in the movie drove me crazy and not a clear view of the alien drove me crazy

I saw the original when I was 14...I'm 72 now...top notch acting...top notch...they don't "make 'em or write 'em that way anymore." Donat was superb. It shows how the love and believe in one's child pushes us to sacrifice everything even if it means sacrificing everything...no words suffice how this film impacted me years...decades in the future.

Butter for sure!!! Both Johansson and Portman play their roles perfectly.

Heartland on steroids...in every way!!

Not funny anymore...except for MAYBE the political skits...such a shame

You know you're watching a good movie when you hate a character...fanning and pierce played their parts well...very well. The story line was well written. The whole film made me imagine how it was back in the days of yore and how hypocrisy was rampant and hidden by men of the cloth. I was stuck to my seat. Many reviewers on this will write professional reviews but as an amateur reviewer but lover of film(s) I'm critical in my likes or don't likes (been looking at film the likes of "M"..."Of Human Bondage" "Let No Man Write My Write My Epitaph" "etc.

I saw it in '76 when I was 26 and it still holds up in 2022 when I'm 71! Nice to see some stars when they were young and just starting out...and thinner.
