The story is gripping and believable (always important when a film means to be "based on a real story"). Variety of characters. The eccentricity and innocence of Alan Turing is marvellous. "Romantic" sciences are a bit worked.

Lovely mixture of characters - almost a believable real life situation. The humour comes through the behaviour of the cast, quick jabs, and even holds on even when the truly big crooks appear.

It gets everyone thinking. What would you do if you wete cut away from everyone on a tiny Pacific islet? The film is clever to show both the progress of a beginner. Sharp stones invited, the discovery of fire, how to gather food? But also how the thoughts of a man can change if totally isolated
