The main reason why I hate this game is because Abby is the defacto new protagonist, while Joel and Ellie are now terrible human beings. I had no connection whatsoever to Abby or her crew, because she is just a bad person, even though the story tried so hard to make her a hero. The charm from Last of Us 1 came from Joel's struggle to survive, and redemption through meeting Ellie, and their emotional journey together. But in the sequel, they're nothing like they were before, and we're expected to just go along with it? All these review praising the game don't even make any mention that Joel and Ellie are not done justice, and the new focus is Abby, even if we don't like her.
