MASSIVE step backwards. As somebody that's played most dbz titles since the early budokai games, I have to say this game is garbage. The animation in the game is great, but for people posting about following the story 'verbatim', these must be the kids born in 2002 that grew up on dbz kai. Some of the most simple elements of the original story that gave you a reason to be invested are missing. The emotion of the story is completely missing and the combat mechanics are 90% button mashing and upgrading the skill trees does nothing to improve the game. No fight feels different than the next, no matter who you are fighting. The xenoverse games had better combat mechanics than this at least. As somebody that played great games like budokai tenkaichi 2 as a youth, its 2020 and we should have something so much better than this by now.
