Yes this is a strategy games. And for those who love advance wars, it does scratch the itch. But once that's done, you can see the game for what it is. Campaigns are drawn out and units feel somewhat unbalanced. The strategic element also seems messy, as in I never quite felt like I was winning or making the right choice despite being a veteran of strategy games. Overall the UI and story isnt very good. IMO, I wished I skipped this and just played through the old advance wars.
