First of all, I love what they have done with the books and I look forward to watching the new episodes every week...especially eager now that season four has finally arrived. That said, I have to ask: who is responsible for those HORRIBLE wigs this season? There is big difference between TV/film, where the action is close up, to the theatre, where there is adequate distance between actors and audience (the term is "aesthetic distance"...) When I look at the beautiful Claire, the first thing I notice is the wig and I stop believing in what I'm watching. One of the character actors had a wig so ridiculous it looked like a rug sitting on his forehead. And Jamie...what's up with those bangs? No one wore bangs in the 18th century! The audience cannot "suspend their disbelief" when what they are faced with is so obviously fake.
