I saw youtube videos stating that the production of this series was troubled and that the series seems destined to flop. I actually loved the first episode! If people are expecting the same old "space exploration" tale that has been done to death, then this may not be the series for you. However, they've taken a character that is near and dear to every Star Trek fans heart and set up, what looks like, one more incredible adventure for him to go on. The first episode has a ton of easter eggs that seems to weave and tie together material that covers the entire Star Trek Pantheon, including the Abrams films. This first episode really sunk it's hooks into me and I'm looking forward to seeing this series develop. I think they might have something special here!
