Beetlejuice is, in my opinion, Tim Burton's second best film, behind Mars Attacks. The plot and imagery are creative, the characters, cast, and acting are good, the comedy and the story is well put together. However, there is one problem with this movie: Beetlejuice himself. Now, the problem isn't with the character. He's actually pretty funny, oozing with charisma, and having a lot of funny lines. The problem is that despite his name being the title of the movie, he's barely in it. Beetlejuice only becomes relevant at the end of the movie. Before that point, all he does is talk to the characters, and loaf around in Jack and Barbara's model. Say what you will about The Garbage Pail Kids Movie, but at least the Garbage Pail Kids were important characters. That being said, Beetlejuice not having a lot to do with his own movie is really the only problem. I'd recommend it to you, but to be honest, you've probably seen it already.
(By the way, Drop Dead Fred was better)
