I met Jack Charlton in a pub in the West Midlands twenty years ago, the first thing that struck me was he did not seem as big as I expected, the second was how comfortable he was to stand and talk to us, he was definitely a people person.
To watch the deterioration of the man by this cruel disease was really heartbreaking, the moment he recognised Paul McGragh was quite a choker.
The situation between him and his brother was not fully explained and unfortunately Sir Bobby will now never be able to tell his side, even if he wanted to. They were obviously completely unalike in their interests, but that is not to say one was right and the other wrong.
Whatever your opinion of him as a man, this film is a really good insight into his life and his later struggles.
