I first watched this movie when I was 17 years old, when it debuted in 1970. Quite frankly, this movie, and many others, are so full of dialogue and information, that it was later when Cable TV was introduced, that I could watch several more times to more fully understand what was going on. The acting was outstanding, and specifically Richard Boone, who I only knew before from “Have Gun-Will Travel”, was the leading man, full of mystery, and he engages several operatives to help recover a letter that was sent to Peking China—by mistake. Orson Welles & Max Von Sydow—and the man who plays a lover, Patrick O’Neil—-EXCELLENT!! Watch a couple of snippets on YouTube, and then rent the movie!

What’s great about this movie is that you don’t have to be a car-racing fan to enjoy it. Two of the best actors in the same movie should almost be good enough to entice you to want to watch it— but the whole supporting cast is superb and you will love the racing sequences. I must’ve seen this by now at least 10 times and it never gets old.* * it’s actually took me quite a while to become a fan of Matt Damon, but this movie has changed my mind about him. He really is a very good actor, and he plays the part of Carroll Shelby, and you absolutely believe in him, as well as Christian Bale playing the part of Ken Miles. I was totally unaware of all that was going on back then in the 1960s with Car racing—And quite frankly I was a Chevrolet guy when I was younger, but I’ve had a Ford Crown Victoria LX For six years now and I love it! You will love this movie!

Almost anything that Steven Spielberg personally directs is going to be great---and of course anything that Leonardo DiCaprio appears in is going to be great as well. Knowing that this is based on a true story makes it even better. It's almost too much to believe that a kid before he was 19 years old had done so much without any training it's almost unbelievable--but it's true! By the way, throw Tom Hanks in as a supporting cast member---well, that makes it even better, and then ultimately you've got Christopher Walken playing the father figure. Once in a while a movie is made that is perfect, and this is definitely one. It's a five star movie hands-down. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
