Well, Christian Bale and Amy Adams were sensational! But, for all the first-rate acting, the script fails them mightily. One never finds out in the least what motivates Dick Cheney, except a kick in the ass from his wife. We usually don't know why he does what he does (not going after the 1996 Presidential nomination is a brief exception), and the movie raises more questions than it attempts to answer, likely because of poor scriptwriting. I know little more about Dick Cheney after the movie than I did going in.
