Having said that, this series also maintains a sense of suspense all throughout, keeping one wondering if the boy killed the girl and, if so, whether it was a result of a trauma. As a viewer, we try to make sense of the situation, and end up watching this spectacular series with an involuntary bias, whether it’s AGAINST the family or FOR the son, whose age evokes a desire to hold onto the glimmer of hope that he did not perpetrate the crime. **Excellence in Acting** * **Standout Performances:** * The encounter between the son and the child psychologist absolutely phenomenal !! * The portrayal of the father and the lasting effects of the incidents on him in the final episode was truly noteworthy. * The first episode as a whole was excellent and showed raw emotions that might be triggering. It is definitely worth watching and stays with you for a long time ! Very difficult to look away and is so engaging that I didn’t have to make an effort to stay focused. It made me forget that I’m on the other side of the television.

I'm sorry I couldn't bare it any more than 30 minutes and turned it off. Don't know the hype for Melissa Barrera. Poor acting right from the beginning. Story-wise there is nothing interesting to hold on to. In an era of powerful documentaries/movies about mental health and other related issues, a movie like this, no matter how creative, just doesn't fit. It's bland and the acting is extremely off-putting. This might not be a helpful review but I couldn't risk using my time to watch it through till the end.

I was immediately hooked from the moment I watched the trailer & was not disappointed ! ! It Gives 1990~2000's movie era vibe(everyone would have loved it then, nowadays people have no patience and are into flashy over-rated stuff). Even if it's a low budget movie, the plot keeps it strong and thrilling !! Who should watch? → If you are into thrillers that feel like they can happen easily in real life. → If you are into stuff that keeps you at the edge. Almost on the verge of screaming out of irritation by uncontrollable circumstances shown in the film. → If you have been through any form of psychological trauma (It will feel like hell if you have been a victim of stalking) → If you are into good acting! The main character's acting is more than enough to carry the whole movie on her shoulders. There were times when you feel it could have been done better, BUT the overall plot makes up for it so all is forgiven ! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND !!

YES IT CAN HAPPEN TO ANYONE IN REAL LIFE so regardless of 3★ rating, I highly recommend for people to watch this movie. <Plot, SPOILER FREE> It's about how an Australian photographer who is backpacking in Berlin ,not familiar with German, is exploring the city in hopes to finding a deeper meaning/purpose in life. In that unfamiliar environment she comes across a German man who, can not only speak her language, but also has a charming personality. What initially feels like a spark and cute little experience in a foreign land turns out to be a foreigner's worst nightmare, as he turns out to be psychotic sociopath who entraps her in his house in an isolated building where the windows are made of bullet proof glass & are double paned and the doors are locked. Seems impossible but will she escape? if so how? <for those who feel this movie is slow, SPOILER FREE> For a theme like this, character development is very important and that could only be shown with day to day normal experiences. This movie is successful in explaining the why's & how's of the whole incident. Hence it's easy to feel that it can happen to anyone !! Also slow scenes after the entrapment were required to depict the seriousness and anxiety faced by the main character. <acting, SPOILER FREE> Teresa Palmer shows excellent acting skills and successfully portrays an indecisive easy going, not so confident girl in a new city.She is 100% believable as a victim who has to accept the present scenario of her not getting out soon. Fragile when confronted by her captor, has no option but to give in. Max Riemelt is a charming captor who doesn't seem evil at all. Although he does show his mental instability and lack of control of situations at times he does seem like a harmless school teacher. He is quite believable but casting for this role could have been better as Max Reimelt seems charming ALL THROUGHOUT. NOTHING ELSE. <hype about the ending, SPOILER FREE> How it ends was great and realistic!! but IT FELT HIGHLY RUSHED. The pace of the movie and that of the ending didn't seem to match. The climax should have been shown in detail as we, as the viewers, also want to resolve our feelings of curiosity. <reason for 3★> the ending could have been better or rather been better paced!! Also felt for the key role of the captor→ casting could have been better.

This is a tough one to watch!! But its a must-watch if you dare!! The story is about what unravels when a rich and very happy & healthy family go to a vacation house and allow 2 sociopaths to enter their house out of kindness(of course unknowingly). "You bet that you'll be alive tomorrow at 9 o'clock and we bet that you'll be dead." That's how the funny games or rather gruesome torture begins. It turns out to be a complete horror for your mind, you kind-of want to hate it but you just keep watching it. The "why are they doing this?" isn't important, when horrific things occur, THEY JUST DO. Having said that, you kind-of want to take your eyes off of it, but at the same time can't wait to watch what happens next. The movie keeps you curious throughout. The acting is great(each and every character felt justified). There is no visual violence but your imagination takes care of it (equally terrifying).Some might feel that the pace was too slow at times(I did too) but it also helps in the build-up of curiosity, frustration, and at times is essential for you to gather your thoughts. So it felt justified as well. The frustration with the father rendered unable(useless) to be of any help, feelings of hope at the bleak chances that the child or the mother get at times, dreading the horror about to happen, accepting the after math, built-up frustration when things don't go as expected, waiting to know the limits of the sociopaths, trying to find some weak link or imagining how the end would be like, almost 100% expecting a just ending→One goes through all these emotions. Any movie that is able to create this effect is a MUST WATCH! And is a movie to remember. Was it a torturous thrill? plain gruesome horror ? uncontrollable tragedy ? or just "funny games"? Please watch to know more !!!

"Vanishing of Sydney Hall" go ahead and vanish but why is it so important to find him? Is he that important ? Easily forgettable movie, simple plot with unnecessary mystery and made up complexities. This movie is about a tormented writer, depicting his highs and lows. It seems like the only reason the main character was soo important was because there had to be one for making the movie. The only interesting part of the film was the side story of a boy who was physically abused by his father. I've always felt that the "writer" character in any movie are shown so pretentious and the world revolves around them.This movie is a classic example of the same.

Anne hatheway and Jessica Chastain did a good job with the acting hence 1 star for each, but the storyline didn't fulfill the expectation. <<<<possible spoilers ahead>>>> There was no backstory to Anne Hatheway's character, what drove her to do what she did(not everyone has the potential to do what the character did all of a sudden,unless there were previous traumas or a backstory). The ending felt like a cheap old movie. There was no investigation of any sort. So many deaths in the neighborhood but no one doubted anything.. It felt disappointing.

Acting was great. It isn't a thriller but drama. Shows how an unhealthy work environment affects emotions/dynamics/bond of two people are ready to get married. This movie isn't about power dynamics at all, but sheer ego(male ego as shown in the movie, as how it happens a lot at work). Also, unhealthy work environment at a male dominated corporate job(Calling employees at 2 in the night, drinking almost every night after work, using foul language...) It is as real as it gets. Great work !! -1 star coz the ending felt abrupt. Could have been better. The one's who can't relate to or don't understand the concept of this movie might be because 1 They have had an exceptionally nurturing corporate work environment, especially where their partners work in the same team(If this is the case then damn you are lucky !). 2 They have had little to no experience of corporate life. 3 They have the privilege of being a male at work/ in society and hence don't seem to understand what the movie is trying to convey (only judging by the comments)

The ending is so disappointing. The last 10 min ruined it all. The story had such a great potential. Didn’t work for me. Feel like a complete wastage of my time. I don’t even feel like elaborating any further.so disappointed.

What would a dog get out of making a 265 miles long highly-rough journey for his musher? It's the sheer happiness of just being with their master. That's all. That's Togo for you. Togo is an masterpiece ! brilliantly depicting a true and loyal bond between Togo(a sled-dog) and Seppala(his master/musher). Their highly interdependent relationship is so beautiful and heartwarming to watch.
