A brilliant film showing a dark time in the Czech Republic. The acting was superb, the relationship between the two men beautifully portrayed. Jan Mikolasek was a gifted herbalist and along with my friends who attended this film I left determined to find out more about him. The Charlatan is the best type of film, leaving you wanting to go, as one friend saidto have a glass of wine to discuss the movie, explore and share your thoughts and feelings about it.
The three time Oscar nominated director Agnieszka Holland certainly does not disappoint with this beautiful film. maybe this is her time to win.
A great candidate for the 2020Best Foreign Film at the Acadamy awards.
