I just watched the film with my very patriotic Scottish husband. We thought the film was enjoyableand watchable. Definitely a nice ‘Friday night treat’ with our take out curry! It had a sense of realism about it that I liked and some really cool camera shots, such as when The Bruce leaves a tent and the camera follows him, making you feel like you’re in the film leaving the tent too. It doesn’t have as good a script as ‘braveheart’ despite being as good an historical story, but still the best film I’ve seen recently. Costumes and scenery great, accents good, characters and battle scenes ditto. If you like films like ‘Robin Hood’ you’d like this.
