This sequel had some very interesting ideas, but it was poorly executed. I admire them trying to evolve the story of Cube, but the BRIGHT WHITE setting the entire film (every room is WHITE), did feel a little too bright. I liked the variety of color in the 1st Cube. Also it was more mysterious.
Cube had great directing, editing, subtle music, mystery, and it might not have had the best acting, but I loved how serious each actor was. You started to root for certain characters you didn't expect to root for.
Cube 2 felt like every scene was the 1st or 2nd take. Most of the time it felt like the actors were rehearsing. Then they would move on to the next identical room (WHITE room again). However, playing with gravity and physics, and time was the one thing keeping my interest.
Cube: Zero I haven't finished but I could tell right away they were trying to bring back the feeling the original gave viewers. I can't say I hated Cube 2. I think the Director should have been harder on the Actors. To me it felt like they would shoot a scene and the director would say something like "That's good enough, next scene".
