Even though violent and overlong, liked Shahid Kapoor's acting. Also, unlike some other movies, this one kept me engaged until the last frame. So, yeah, worth a watch.

This Aussie show is quite clever and witty. At the risk of sounding like a puritan, it is full of moral 'filth' like Dynasty, Two and a Half Men and a million other Western shows. But, the characterization and the writing is engaging. So, mate, Cleave- it seems that this Shane Warney 'street'speak is an interesting intro to a country that is somewhat under-represented in the Western TV universe in comparison to the U.K. and the U.S.

Am a fan of Saradindu Bandopadhyay's Byomkesh Bakshi stories, the TV serial starring Rajat Kapoor and some of the movies in Bengali. This one was however boring. It starts off with an interesting premise but is a drag and boring at the end. The climax is cliched and the director/writer could have tweaked it to keep the audience more involved. For all the criticism of Bollywood etc, Bengali movies need to up their game and bring out more classics like in the Satyajit Ray era. Still appreciate the penchant for detectives in Tollywood though. Keep making detective thrillers for the audience, just better.

Addictive. Binge-watched four seasons. Maggie Q as Nikita, Alex, Birkhoff, Amanda and Percy, names that you will get familiar with if you watch this series. If it can be faulted - it's for a hackneyed American geopolitical world view that seems to be the hallmark of most of these series when it comes to covering other regions of the world. But, if you want to suspend disbelief and keep watching - a roller coaster ride.

Very boring series. Only liked the beautiful location. Slow TV series usually get awarded. Killing Eve far better and fast paced.

Had read the sprawling world building novel by Vikram Chandra nearly a year back; so was waiting with bated breath for the TV adaptation. Also met the author at a literary event; and asked him about the same. Chandra said that Netflix is an incredibly closeted organization and despite him being the author; he had no idea when it would be on air. To tell you the truth; I was wondering how a soft-spoken individual like him had conjured up this macabre story. But; as writers we conjure up different worlds. Now having watched all the 8 episodes; my verdict is half liked it and half hated the whole thing. Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane have conformed to the Netflix staple of sex, violence and cliffhangers but sincerely crassness and too much sex spoil the broth somewhat. In the novel; the RAW agent Anjali Mathur came across as iron-willed, perceptive and intelligent; the Netflix version messes up the whole thing. Clearly the aim is to please even the lowest common denominator and people who generally watch the TV shows; and do not bother reading the books behind them. Radhika Apte was unbelievably crass as the operative and spoke in a tone and language that clearly indicated she was speaking in Mumbai slang; a patois that does not remotely resemble how a person from Delhi might speak.(In the novel; Mathur is from the capital). I know she’s the current darling of the so-called “art” set; but she doesn’t hold a candle to say great actresses like Smita Patil. Once you get into reading the novel(it is a mega-book nearly a 1000 pages long); despite being tedious it tends to grow on you and is more mysterious than this adaptation. Nawazuddin; although menacing and doing a good job does not sound like a Maharashtrian gangster. There are far too many cuss words(gaalis) in the TV version; which are jarring as they are used without context. Kukoo has been made into something to please the nascent Indian LGBT community. More conflicts and subtext could be derived from the novel. Parulkar and Majid are more friendly to Inspector Sartaj Singh in the novel; and he even goes to have dinner or visit both their houses. Not too much mention of his wife Megha. The Netflix version reduced the narrative to one-dimensional rather than the complex version in the novel. Luke Kenny is definitely worth watching as a villain- which was not the case in the novel. The directors have clearly had fun creating a mysterious nemesis who recites stories on Habil and Qabil; or Abel and Cain; and tries to sell doomsday scenarios. Gaitonde and Isa definitely have some real world parallels in Chota Rajan and Dawood. And we know that Indian politicians; the police are remarkably corrupt dystopias. I’ve recently come to know that a Congress supporter has some angst about remarks made on Rajiv Gandhi in this series; which were reasonably mild compared to the daily diatribe and anti-Hindu trolling that is a badge of honour for recent “creative” filmmakers who get to do this even in this series. Still; the directors can’t be faulted completely. They have had to deal with a complex novel like “Sacred Games” and cinematic versions do need to play around with a creative license. I just think it could have been done a little better.

Interesting watch. Kay Kay trips all the way. Somewhat similar to a Korean movie I watched last year "Forgotten".

Kept me watching; but not that great a movie. Some Netflix serials like "Dark" were more interesting; this movie seemed one-dimensional except for the visual effects which were good. Watch only if you like the genre.

Sucker punch at the end. Welcome to the future. Watched it in 2 days. Seriously creepy this show lives up to its name; literally. Unlike its American counterpart Stranger Things; there is no popcorn fun here. Eternal recurrence from Nietzsche; Einstein-Rosen bridges; wormholes; Ariadne’s thread and the Minotaur; this show draws deeply from the worlds of philosophy; science and literature. Now I know why the Germans have a reputation for seriousness. Still the show draws you in and is reasonably entertaining.

Watched the first episode; left it then binge-watched the entire season after I found the adventures of the Carringtons exciting. A reboot of the original American soap from the 80s; this was scandalously labeled as "cretin-watchable" from a member of the original cast; but heck guess what; I think that guy was jealous. If you're ok with the standard tropes of 21st century American TV a la Netflix which means gay men; interracial romance; then this is delightful and has interesting twists and turns. Fallon Carrington however is the dame worth watching as she is sassy, confident, outspoken, bratty, obnoxious and cool. Damn; these TV series make one feel like being extremely rich. Escapism for fans.
