While I understand the message of the movie, and agree with it, this is one of the worst movies I've seen in a long time. It had such potential to do great things with the message, but it fell way short.
It was good until it wasn't. The last 30-40 mins went so over the top, it became cringey to watch. I almost turned it off, but I finished it hoping it would redeem itself in the end (it did not).
I commend Demi Moore for stripping down, literally, and not being afraid to show her aging body (though she herself has had a lot of work done over the years), but imo it was not an Oscar worthy performance.
Apparently this is some new genre of "body horror." I love horror movies, especially the old kitschy ones from the 80s, but this wasn't horror. It was gory and over-the-top ridiculous, so much so that my son and I actually laughed through the ending.
Seriously, don't waste your time. I just lost 2.25 hours of my life.
