I’m debating giving this a lower ranking, but I genuinely cannot criticize this album. Every song is incredibly lyrically sound. Most outstandingly the title track, Punisher with lines such as, “Most times alone, some looking your worst, but never not sweet to the trust funds and punishers” and, “I wish that I could say the same, I swear, I’m not angry that’s just my face, a copycat killer with a chemical cut,” referencing her longing to be able to treat her fans like her hero, Elliott Smith, how she copies him in her music, and how fried her hair is from bleach. Genuinely a beautiful album with understated sound and small production, but it makes it worth it.
