I played the original and many other FF games. It reached a bit lower than I expected. For this first part, they decided to extend the 5h-6h of the original game to a full game. Consequently, to make an 40h story long, there was quite a bit of filler. For example if you had to go from point A to point B, there was so many irrelevant things you had to go through just to extend the gameplay time. That was annoying. Otherwise, the gameplay was interesting, the story too. Personnally, I found some side characters kinda boring and the side missions weren't that original (ah go kill a monster here and there). I don't know if it was the voice over, but Aerith went from a legit character in ff7 to the most annoying pot of glue character. When there's an emerency, she takes her sweet time to do whatever she needs to do (spoiler: the scene when she saves Marlene is far too long for the context). I was kinda deceived. Tifa and Barret were extremely well developped, as well as the AVALANCHE group. I liked the ending plot twist and it's a decent game, just a bit low for FF standards.
