I really enjoyed this movie. For me it had much in common with Baz Lurhman's Romeo and Juliet and the first Shrek movie. By taking a story from the Western canon it combines the familiar with the fresh allowing it to explore foolishness, ambition, love, greed, companionship, loyalty and vacuity. The shift between the real and the unreal allows the movie to surprise as it travels along a known path.
