I think I can solve it...
Phenomenal album from start to finish. Flashes of Prince and Dean Blunt throughout the record - particularly on highlight track 'Kerosene!' which is nothing short of phenomenal. Make no mistake, whilst the album shares some likeness with the Funk icons of yesteryear, Yves Tumor makes his own mark on the genre. It's a fantastic effort by the artist, and am very much looking forward to what he does next. Special mention has to go to Diana Gordon on the aforementioned 'Kerosene!' who blesses us with quite possible the greatest vocal solo of the past couple years or so. Do us a favour and blast it full volume.
