I really hate that people keep thinking this is supposed to be some Korean version of GOT. If you finish the first episode you'd know there's no similarities except that they're both fantasy genres. OMG they're wearing this type of clothing -> GOT (just shoot me already, its common fantasy tropes and societal issues .. like really guys?) And yes I watched the entire GOT series.
Once you get that out of your mind and actually evaluate the story of Arthdal Chronicles you'll understand it revolves around a prophecy and how these main characters develop to either prove or disprove that prophecy. It's quite an interesting plot. I love how they creators paid attention to the details of different cultures and tribes. I feel like there's a lot of details but the writing wasn't always paid off well - possibly too much detail. For example the first episode was the most boring to me. A lot of telling had to be done as we all know not the best way to introduce the show, but I feel they did that to compensate all the details. I'd prefer the characters not narrate what they think, there's better directing that could be done instead (but this is me being nit picky). Arthdal Chronicles does keep you invested throughout the show and does get better as you watch. Great cast btw. There were some scenes that REALLY get you, like damn I can't believe it was acting. Or damn I can't believe someone thought of that scene. I'm looking forward to see part 3 release in September (that ENDING THOUGH!!!). I rate it 8/10 so far.
