This book deserves a 5-star rating! I never thought I would like a book like this. I read this book in my 8th-grade English class It takes you on an emotional, breathtaking journey with the characters and really pulls on your heartstrings. The characterization is so strong and makes you connect with each and every nature on a level you never would expect. The story has many themes of brotherhood, friendship, love, acceptance, and support systems. I can’t stress this enough but give yourself the gift of this beautiful story, and I promise you will NEVER regret it. Never judge a book by its cover, for this book is a hidden gem. And then watch the movie released in 1983 directed by Francis Ford Coppola to see the beauty of the book transmitted on your TV screen, with beautiful cinematography, a heartfelt score, and excellent actors with hearts of gold. I couldn't be more thankful for this story has impacted my life in so many ways. I have eternal gratitude for my English teacher, S.E. Hinton, Francis Coppola, the actors, and everyone who was involved in publishing the book or working in the movie. Do yourself a favor and READ THIS BOOK! Stay Gold!💛🌅💛
