The initial low ratings by fans was because it was incomplete when it launched, which is true. The royal edition completes it, maybe. But that shouldn't stop any new comers to final fantasy. This game imo is the best for new comers of this generation to get into JRPG. The music stands out, the game play is great and the side quests are good. The story? That depends on person to person and how they dig into the lore. If you have xbox game pass you will get the royal edition, so why not try it. Just change the attack and defense controls to R2 and L2. Thank me later.
