As a kid, I grew up watching Rocko on Netflix. It was one of my favorite cartoons to watch, same with Angry Beavers and Rugrats and other shows like that.
Upon seeing the release of this short film, I was so excited! I've been waiting for 3 years to see this since they announced the reboot. I like how they picked up (somewhat) where the 90's series left off.
I was absolutely amazed when they revealed Ralph Bighead to be a trans girl/woman. Like, I was actually quaking. I thought they represented everything SO well! The show was absolutely great, while still going over some more serious themes, it still kept the quirky comedy and gags from the original show. I see a bunch of reviews of people genuinely upset over the fact that Rachel is, well, Rachel, and honestly I'm pretty sure we saw two different things. Apparently they didn't get the gist.
I don't even really think Netflix's target audience was for kids, I'm sure it was directed towards true fans of the show. If you're going to complain about LGBT representation in children's media then don't even include any sort of heterosexual romance in children's media. The show was great, I really enjoyed reliving my childhood.
