Blue Serengeti is a beautiful film on white shark research off the coast of California. Directed by Rod Dixon for Discovery Channel, the film follows Stanford's Dr. Barbara Block with her research team and Dr. Salvador Jorgesen of the Monterey Bay Aquarium tagging and tracking sharks from the coast to the White Shark Cafe. Included are camera tags on an elephant seal named Steve, and a shark's eye view using this amazing new technology.
Narrated by Sylvia Earle, this film demonstrates the difficulty of field science, a respect for these apex predators and the beauty and importance of sharks to ocean health.
