I love Japanese cinema which can be very slow, so this felt pacy. This is polished, very well cast, beautiful to watch, and offers a rare insight into a process that is otherwise hermetic. The film has elements of a detective story. The humour is very understated, but the tension maintained - perfect recipe for unexpected laughter. Really a gem.

Cracking dialogue and one-liners, excellent pacing and delivery, this is really funny and gripping - which is rare because it is so hard to get right - with lots of unexpected plot shenanigans, great acting, and the production is really good without getting in the way. The slang alone makes it worth watching.
