Loved it. It's our book club read for April, and we will have so much to discuss. Story really interesting and beautifully written. The trees, the insects, the plants and wild life in general have a central role. I'm listening to it on Audible and have only two hours left. Rationing begins now - or perhaps not! A very good read!

Wonderful book. I knew very little about the Japanese people who emigrated to USA, even less about the catalogue brides. The Amercan government treated their Japanese citizens shamefully, but this has been acknowledged and some compensation paid....too little, too late. Beautifully written, enormous amount of research.
