Pretty boring, and definitely slow moving. Heavy on moods, but short on facts. Callas comes across as a narcisstic diva. This woman had a fascinating life so there is much raw material to work with to describe her motivations. Alas, the charmless and unlovable Callas portrayed in this movie is less about a complex woman, and more about intense navel gazing. The movie hints at anguish, but apart from the separation from Onassis who is so crass one wonders what anyone saw in him, the movie never provided enough detail to understand the woman. The music soars, and the sets and filming locations are sublime. In the end, the fate of Callas' servants are more interesting than the main character.
