Okay, I’m going to review this without giving too much away. But obviously there will be some sort of spoilers. So it isn’t awful but it just isn’t Lilo and Stitch as in the original. They have changed soooooo much about it, Jumba is now a villain at the end instead of wanting the best for stitch he wants to make stitch evil and take over where he is from. They completely did Jumba and Cobra Bubbles for that matter dirty, the addition to Nani’s background was quite nice it made her more of a relevant character. They made David such a weird character, he just wasn’t how he was in the original in my opinion. They even cut out captain Gantue all together, and I think they needed that character in as Jumba being the “villain” completely and the missing parts of Gantue just doesn’t make it work really. It may as well be a different film like more of a remake. Obviously the ending just was completely different from what the original was (which I will not spoil) it was nice in a way but just not what was in the original. I feel like because of that and obviously with the added story for Nani it would be impossible for Disney to do the second film for Lilo and Stitch if they had intended to as it would either not match up with the first live film or they would have to create a completely different beginning. And honestly I quite miss the part of David swooping in to save everything at the last minute with the job front and Nani saying she owes him and him telling her “you could just date me and we will call it even” or whatever it is that he says in the original, as they don’t have it this way in this. I’m not saying it isn’t worth a watch, I would possibly watch it again but it wouldn’t be something I’d watch a lot. But the original cartoon is definitely the better out of the two in my opinion. (And yes this is my opinion of it someone else may love it more than the original)
