This game is ok, but just ok. It could’ve been amazing, but they got lazy and made it really repetitive.
First impression … The controls are awful..when you turn or aim with the right stick it starts moving way too slowly and then quickly accelerates to moving way too fast, with no option to customize it in the settings.
The combat is quite boring and repetitive…and speaking of repetitive, do they really need to make the same tired quips and comments EVERY TIME Antea smashes a barrier with her “Outburst”?! It gets incredibly annoying after the first few dozen times.
All in all , like I said at the beginning…this game is just ok. To be honest it seems like it may have been rushed to market for some reason. It almost plays like it’s still in Beta. So many parts of it just seem unfinished, whether it’s ropes standing in midair, attached to nothing, elevators with ropes that aren’t connected to anything or the terrible dialogue and ridiculous plot lines, both of which were almost certainly written by ChatGPT or another A.I.
The game definitely feels like it would’ve benefited greatly from a couple more months of polishing before release. Maybe they’ll fix these issues with an update, but I doubt it. They probably won’t bother spending the time or resources to fix a game that doesn’t have in-game purchases or a paid subscription. 🙄
Anyway…great idea for a game. But not the best execution. I kinda want to write a full tear-down review of this game, listing all its faults, but it would end up as a 3000 word article, so I won’t …this is already too long.
I’d give it 6.5/10. If you’re gonna buy it, buy it used or on sale. I paid full price and I’m regretting it now. It’s not worth buying new. Now that I’ve played it, I wouldn’t pay any more than $40 for Banishers.
